Florida Songwriters Association is sponsoring several kids for the Exodus United Inc. teen studio program for youth to learn about recording, producing, engineering , etc. as a way of helping them express themselves in a positive environment. “We’re all about educating and motivating kids to stretch their limits in the music industry, so coming together with Exodus United Inc. was an easy decision to give back to our community,” says Executive Director Steve Lane.

Exodus United Inc. is a non-profit organization providing arts-and-education programs for at-risk youth in Central Florida.  Forming partnerships with local school districts as well as with shelters other outreach facilities, Exodus United Inc.’s objective is to empower young people to become civically engaged and socially competent in both city and global issues by employing best practices of arts education and creative expression.

Prior to incorporating the organization, Exodus United Inc. founder Shayna Castano independently facilitated creative writing workshops at the Coalition for the Homeless in downtown Orlando. The program at the Coalition was featured in the Orlando Sentinel.

On account of the thriving success and great impact which Castano discovered amongst the residents of Coalition for the Homeless, she decided to create an organization dedicated to an extremely powerful body of youth.

Exodus United Inc.’s main program, Poetry & Pedagogy, has been facilitated for six terms at various youth facilities, including Covenant House, Frontline Outreach Center, Parramore Kidz Zone, & Boys & Girls Club.

Currently, Exodus United Inc. facilitates two main programs, Poetry & Pedagogy and Creative Exile Youth Art Camp. Exodus United Inc. also provides opportunities for youth to record their original poems and raps in the recording studio to be featured on our Soundcloud.
